Our Brand Design Approach
We began our redesign for Welfare in TV and Film by thoroughly understanding the specific demographics and needs of the industry professionals we aimed to engage. Our research identified that our primary audience consists of conscientious, forward-thinking industry leaders who value mental health and are proactive about implementing welfare standards.
This insight led us to examine the interaction patterns and preferences of these professionals regarding industry practices, training, and resources. We explored the brands and services they trust to ensure that our branding would resonate with and effectively attract our target market.
The Logo Design
Our approach to the logo design for Welfare in TV and Film (WTF) was anything but conventional—befitting a brand that dares to challenge industry norms. We chose to integrate the 'WTF' acronym not just as a nod to the organisation's name but also to embrace the dual entendre that comes with it.
The logo features dynamic, bold letterforms that project forward momentum and resilience, mirroring the progressive and bold steps WTF is taking towards transforming mental health support in the industry.
Adding a twist of personality, we encircled the striking 'WTF' letters with the tagline 'Welfare in TV and Film' in a sleek, semi-circle arrangement. This design choice symbolises unity and inclusivity, enveloping the central message like a protective shield.
The typography within the circle subtly fluctuates in weight, reflecting the natural ups and downs of mental health, yet it steadies into a harmonious and balanced finish. It's a visual promise that, despite the challenges, Welfare in TV and Film is a beacon of stability and support for its community.
Brand Colour Palette
The colour palette for Welfare in TV and Film is as vibrant and meaningful as the company itself.
"Haze," a serene lavender, establishes a foundation of calm, while "Ultra Violet" adds a vivid burst of energy, symbolizing the dynamic change WTF brings to the industry.
We included two shades of "Green Screen" to represent growth and high-energy vitality. "Comin’ Up Rosy" provides a warm, inviting pink, and "Velvet Noir" with its deeper variant adds sophistication and stability.
Together, these colours are visually striking and resonate with the transformative journey WTF champions.
Brand Typography for mental health brand
The typography captures the essence of the brand’s pioneering spirit and commitment to mental health advocacy. Our heading font, a modern take on the classic grotesque style, conveys strength and approachability, embodying the robust and dynamic character of the organization. Its high contrast in letterforms enhances readability and draws attention, making a bold statement about the importance of welfare in the industry.
For the body text, we selected a complementary typeface that works beautifully with our heading font. Its rounded features and open curves lend a friendly and inviting tone, ensuring that the content is both engaging and accessible.
This pairing not only facilitates clear communication but also supports the brand's identity as inclusive and supportive, reflecting its dedication to fostering a positive environment across TV and film production.
Custom Portal for Enhanced Member Experience
We developed a fully custom portal for Welfare in TV and Film, tailored to the unique needs of their members. This specialized platform allows clients to seamlessly log in and manage their memberships, with intuitive features designed to enhance user engagement. Members can watch educational videos, manage subscriptions, and bookmark essential videos and documents for easy access. This custom solution supports the organization's goal to educate senior staff on handling mental health situations effectively, providing them with the tools and knowledge to foster a healthier workplace.
Integration with Squarespace for Public Engagement
For the public-facing component of the website, we used Squarespace to create a clean, typography-led design that communicates the urgent need for change within the industry.
The site prominently features stark statistics that highlight the prevalence of mental health issues in the media sector, drawing attention to the critical support WTF offers. This approach ensures that the message of transformation and support is clearly conveyed, encouraging industry professionals and stakeholders to take action.
Strategic Website Design to Facilitate Awareness and Education
The combination of the custom portal and the Squarespace front end allows WTF to offer a comprehensive online experience that serves both its members and the broader public.
While the portal provides a secure, bespoke environment for learning and management, the Squarespace website effectively raises awareness and drives home the impact of WTF's work. Together, these elements form a cohesive digital strategy that amplifies WTF's mission to improve mental health and welfare in TV and film.
Bespoke Squarespace Training
